Holland Community Center invites residents from Wales and Brimfield to join them...

Seniors, retirees, and those planning retirement are welcome to the annual Elderlaw Seminar at the Holland Community Center on Wednesday, May 13th at 1:15 p.m. Our speaker is Atty.Todd Ratner of Bacon & Wilson, Inc. Topics to be covered include Wills, Trusts, Gifts, Lookback Period, Homestead Act, Health Care Proxy, Legal Guardianship, Power of Attorney and other important documents to help plan and protect your estate. We are happy to present this seminar in conjunction with the Brimfield and Wales Senior Centers. If you would like to come at noon that day for lunch, please contact the Holland Community Center by noon on Monday, May 11th at 413-245-3163 to reserve a meal. If you would like to come just for the Elderlaw Seminar, please call 413-245-3163 before the 13th to register so we can provide ample materials, or call your local Senior Center to let them know you'd like to attend. The Brimfield # is 413-245-7253, and Wales # is 413-245-9683. If there are legal matters you wish to discuss with our attorney in private, he will be happy to make an appointment with you for a meeting at the Holland Community Center. Brown Bag Lunches

Applications being accepted at the Brimfield Senior Center for the Western Mass Food Bank Brown Bag Program. You will receive 15-20 healthy meals the second Friday of each month if you qualify. Many persons receiving SNAP, Fuel Assistance or already a quest at the Wales Community Food Pantry may qualify. Call EVA 413-245-7253 for an application or call Heather 413-245-9683 for info. This service is open to anyone living in the towns of Brimfield, Holland, Wales, The Brookfields, etc.

SHINE COUNSELOR

Medicare, Medicaid/Masshealth or insurance questions? Make an appointment to see our new SHINE Counselor. Appointments available for Mondays, 1pm to 3pm, please call Heather to schedule an appointment with Allan. 413-245-9683

WE CAN HELP

No one should ever go hungry or be cold during the winter. From Food Pantry to coats & scarves, we will do our best to help with the item(s) that you need. Our Food Pantry is here for the entire community.

MINI GYM IS OPEN

The Wales Senior Center has an Elliptical Machine, treadmill and dumbbells, which have all been donated. We have this equipment in our main room and is available for use during our working hours, Monday thru Thursdays 10am to 2:30pm. Please call Heather for the most "convenient" times to use our mini gym. Please check with a doctor to make sure you are healthy enough to use this equipment. HELPING YOU STAY HEALTHY!!!

Chair Dancing

LOVE TO DANCE??? Do the feet say yes, yes, yes but the body says No, No, No??? Dance in your chair!!! Enjoy chair dancing at your pace, brakes when you need them, just sit and tap your feet if that's what you want to do. Dance to the Oldies, Country, Hip Hop and even Latin Flair!!! You will be exercising and not even realize it! Join us every Thursday at 10:30 am. Instructor Forty Arroyo will have you laughing and dancing in no time

LUNCH

The Wales Senior Center is probably best known for its lunches!!! Our Cook, Jerry Bernier shops, buys, stores, and prepares each meal with the health & well being of all our seniors in mind, then add his passion for what he does and WOW!!!!! What a meal!!!! From French Day and Spanish Day to meatloaf and beef stew, from pork chops and chili dogs to brownies and apple pie!!! Join us every Tuesday and Thursday. MUST sign up NO LATER than the MORNING before. NO EXCEPTIONS PLEASE cost is $3. No one will ever be turned away for their inability to pay. 413-245-9683

NEW FOOT CARE CLINIC-MONTHLY!!!

NEW FOOT CARE CLINIC, WE HAVE NURSE JAYNE, R.N., B.S.N. 30 MINUTE FULL FOOT/NAIL CARE APPOINTMENT FOR $20.00!! SECOND TUESDAY OF EACH MONTH. INCLUDES: FOOT SOAK, NAIL TRIM, MINI FOOT MASSAGE, FOOT CARE ASSESSMENT, REFERRALS AND EVEN BLOOD PRESSURE (OPTIONAL) WONDERFUL PERSONALITY WITH OVER 20 YEARS NURSING AND FOOT CARE EXPERIENCE. DIABETICS ARE WELCOME!!!! ON AN ANTICOAGULANT? NOT A PROBLEM, SHE CAN WORK ON YOUR FEET TOO!! PLEASE CALL HEATHER FOR AN APPOINTMENT Regular maintenance of the feet is very important for overall health and well being, but sometimes those toes are just too hard to reach. CHAIR MASSAGES

The first Tuesday of each month, Vicki Finnegan is here doing chair massage. It is $5 for 10 minutes. WOW!!! This is by appointment only, openings start at 10 am and the last appointment is 1:15 pm. Please call to reserve your spot. 413-245-9683

VAN IS COMING/DRIVER(S) NEEDED

Yes Folks, its true, the Senior Van is in its final stages and will be joining the senior center soon, but we need another driver or two as VOLUNTEER van drivers. Love your town and want to contribute to the community? Here's your chance to really make a difference. We need drivers willing to take seniors to doctor appointments, shopping, to the bank, pharmacy and to the senior center. If you are truly interested please call Heather for more information. 413-245-9683

Food Pantry

We all know that bad times happen to good people, but you don't have to deal with it alone. The Food Pantry, located at 85 Main St. here at the Senior Center is open every Wednesday 10 am to 12 noon. Please call Heather to see if you qualify for Food Share Assistance, who knows, you may qualify for other assistance as well. All clients personal information is kept strictly confidential and will NEVER be given out to anyone. The Food Pantry of Wales takes confidentiality very serious. We are here to help. We can service anyone in the Wales, Brimfield, Holland and Monson area. Please call Heather 413-245-9683.

BREAKFAST

May 13th. BREAKFAST IS SERVED!!!! Join us the 2nd & 4th Wednesday of each month for breakfast!!! Cost is $3, NO take home meals, No special orders. All breakfasts are made as you arrive. Hours are 7am-9:45am. Call Heather or Jerry for more info 4132459683 Thank you.
